Charity Dance Challenge… May 28th
Here’s an email I sent over to St Anns Hospice earlier…didn;t seem much point in typing twice so sharing with you guys so you know whats ‘appening… 😉
HiI’m organising a Bollywood night in aid of the Hospice , and thought it might be an idea if I told you ..Its on May 28th , Eccles Liberal Club Monton. A group of local people are going to perform a dance routine, all of us are new to Bollywood dancing (well, almost all of us)I have managed to get costs covered by sponsors (local businesses) , so 100% of every ticket (£5) will go to the Hospice, along with monies raised by raffle and donations on the night. With a bit of luck we will manage to video our ‘performance’ and post that on social media with a link to a JustGiving page, and see if we can increase donations that way too….We will use a JustGiving page to pay in all monies raised if thats ok, so public can see ticket money going in and know that it is going direct to you.I will forward full flyer and details this weekend, just getting everything ready for the printers..ThanksJenny Thomas (DesiSister)
When I originally came up with the idea I thought this might be the ‘ ice bucket thing’ for 2016 but its infinitely more complicated…and highly unlikely to catch on..
unless you live in Monton that is….
A team, a rapidly growing team, of people from the area are coming together to learn a dance routine , a Bollywood routine (Mahi Ve to be exact) , which we will then perform at an event…a party..at the local Liberal Club…
See below… just a few of the team..led by village postmaster, Mr Dilip Patel
its gonna be fun…doubt if we’ll be heading for BGT on the strength of the performance but we will be laughing, we will be having fun…
and we will be raising some money for St Anns Hospice.. our local independent charity
‘St Ann’s Hospice cares and helps around 3,000 patients (over the age of 16) and their families and carers every year who are affected by cancer and non-cancer life limiting illnesses. We deliver care that is special and unique to each individual person. Around 40% of inpatients at St Ann’s Hospice return home after treatment.’
Tickets available locally…eventually… 5 weeks to go and last sponsors coming on board…. if you really want to join in,come along, donate a raffle prize, volunteer or just roll around laughing at us on the night…
hit me with an email email@example.com 🙂
and in case you’re wondering.. Mahi Ve, from the film Kal Ho Na Ho..for those of you that know the film, I’m sure you can see the connection between the Hospice and the film.. x
